As the Mississippi River begins to recede, the Missouri Department of Transportation announces the reopening of a couple of northeast Missouri highways.

MODOT reports that Highway 79 near Continental Cement south of Hannibal and Ralls County Route E in Saverton have been cleaned up and reopened to traffic.

A number of other roads remain closed because of high water. You can keep up to date on road closures by going to the Traveler Information Map at MODOT.org.
