Due to high water levels on the Mississippi River, the Missouri Department of Transportation has closed Missouri Highway 79 in Louisiana from North Carolina Street to Delaware Street.
Missouri Highway 79 re-opened to traffic at approximately 4 p.m. today (Thursday) near Continental Cement. The road has been closed since early this morning due to a railroad car incident.
Friday, April 19 at 1:00 P.M., MoDOT crews closed MO 79 south of Hannibal due to water over the road. The road is closed just south of the entrances to Sawyers Creek and Mark Twain Cave.
