Hannibal Man Arrested for Assaulting Officer

A Hannibal man has been arrested on numerous charges including assault on law enforcement.

On Thursday afternoon, officers with the Hannibal Police Department Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad discovered 36-year-old Jason S Coulter in a car at the 900 block of Broadway. Coulter had a felony warrant in Illinois for obstructing a police officer and a driving while revoked charge in Hannibal.

Approached, Coulter attempted to dispose of drug paraphernalia and resisted arrest by attempting to strike and officer.

Coulter was arrested and charged with assault on law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest for a felony, and tampering with physical evidence. Coulter was placed in the Marion County Jail on the charges.
