A Hannibal man is held in Lewis County on a variety  of charges following a traffic stop.
Lewis County Sheriff’s deputies observed a vehicle without license plates in the Williamstown area. Deputies say the driver attempted to evade the deputy by traveling on a county road. A passenger—later identified as 48 year old Douglas Howes of Hannibal threw something out of the window. Following a traffic stop… a baggie containing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was found along the gravel road. Howes was taken to the Lewis County Jail. Sheriff David Parrish says Howes is a convicted felon previously sentenced for drug related offenses and receiving stolen property.
