Hannibal’s flood gates are coming out this afternoon.
Hannibal Emergency Management Director John Hark says Mississippi River levels are expected to drop over the next several days.  The river was at 20.67 as of 9:15 this (FR) morning with a steady fall to below flood stage expected through the rest of October.  Hark says removal of the gates at Hill and Center Streets is also being done in conjunction with the Folklife Festival this weekend as a convenience for merchants and exhibiters by allowing access to additional parking.
