The Hannibal Cavemen rode a 12-run first inning to a 17-6 win over the Springfield Sliders at Robin Roberts Field in Springfield Friday night.

The Cavemen sent 18 men to the plate in that first inning. There were seven walks and seven hits by Hannibal. Branson Bentson had a two-run double, Dan Ferguson blasted a three-run homer, Kaleb Zimmer had an RBI single, Jonathan Allison had a three-run single, there were two bases loaded walks, and another run scored on an error.

The win runs the Cavemen's won-loss record to 14-13. They start the weekend three games behind Danville in the Prospect League West Division. Hannibal is at Danville Saturday night. After a day off Sunday, the Cavemen are back at Clemens Field Monday for a game with the Terre Haute Rex.
