It was another long night for the Hannibal Cavemen pitching staff, as the Gems scored nine runs in the first two innings on their way to an 11-1 win Tuesday in Quincy.

Cavemen starter Dalton Overstreet gave up home runs to center fielder Mitch Carriger and shortstop Deion Thompson in the first inning.

The Gems sent eleven men to the plate in the second, scoring six times. Driving in runs for Quincy were Carriger, second baseman Jake Walters, third baseman Trey Mathis and catcher Dean Nevarez.

Hannibal's only run came in the fourth on a single by third baseman Seth Soto, a double off the bat of first baseman Romero Harris and an RBI ground out from right fielder Matthew Green.

Quincy's last two runs came in the fifth on a two-run triple by Thompson.
