A traffic stop in Hamilton results in the arrest of a Hamilton man Tuesday on drug related charges.

According to Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger, deputies joined agents with the Hancock County Multi-Agency Response Team on a traffic stop on Highway 136 in Hamilton about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Initially, the traffic stop resulted in the driver being arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Hancock County’s K-9 officer alerted to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle. A search yielded cocaine, cannabis, THC related products and prescription medication.

A passenger in the vehicle, 36 year old Jason Sprague, was arrested for possession of illegal drugs.

A search of Sprague’s residence revealed more illegal drugs, money and a firearm.

Sprague is in the Hancock County Jail awaiting arraignment.
