Authorities have released the names of the two men involved in a stabbing incident in Hancock County Monday.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports that 34 year old Jacob Hester of Carthage and 43 year old Daniel Jackson of Pontoosuc both suffered knife wounds in the incident at 11 p.m. Monday near Pontoosuc.

Jackson was stabbed in the chest and was taken to Ft. Madison Community Hospital for treatment.

Hester was treated the next day at Carthage Memorial Hospital.

Hester was arrested Tuesday on an unrelated warrant for unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.

Hester is in the Hancock County Jail on $50,000 bond.

The investigation into the stabbing continues.
