A Hannibal man arrested in connection with a disturbance involving a gun had his bond reduction request denied Friday.

The Courier-Post reports the attorney for 52 year-old Michael Hagen asked for a reduction in bond stating that Hagen works and resides in Hannibal. However,  Marion County Prosecutor David Clayton successfully argued that Hagen should not be released without treatment for his alcoholism.

Hannibal Police arrested Hagen early on the morning of April 27 after he allegedly waived a gun around and pointed it at people in the 300 block of North Main.  No injuries were reported. The Prosecutor stated the gun was chambered when police recovered it.

Hagen remains lodged in the Marion County Jail on his original $50,000 cash only bond.  His next hearing is scheduled Friday, May 9th.
