The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released its traffic crash numbers for the just concluded Labor Day weekend.

The Highway Patrol reports that four people lost their lives on Missouri highways over the weekend.

That compares to eleven traffic fatalities over the 2018 Labor Day reporting period.

This year, troopers investigated 309 traffic crashes, which resulted in 107 injuries. There were 116 DWI arrests, with 95 arrested on drug charges.

There were no boating fatalities, but there was one drowning over the holiday.

One of the Labor Day weekend traffic fatalities took place on Highway 168 west of Palmyra in Marion County early Saturday morning, when a car driven by 22 year old Brandon Gramc of Palmyra ran off the road, struck a utility pole and overturned.

The Labor Day weekend reporting period ran from 6 p.m. Friday through midnight Monday.
