Five Die on Missouri Highways Over Christmas Weekend
The Missouri Highway Patrol released its traffic numbers for the just-completed Christmas holiday weekend.
The Highway Patrol reports there were five traffic fatalities on Missouri highways over the weekend.
Troopers investigated 491 crashes, with 125 injuries reported.
That compares 260 crashes, 86 injuries and five fatalities a year ago.
One of the fatal crashes happened in Lincoln County Saturday when a Foristell man died in a crash on Highway 61 just north of the St. Charles County line.
The other fatalities were in the Kansas City and Springfield areas.
The Christmas weekend reporting period ran from 6 p.m. Friday through midnight Monday.
