Former Adams County Coroner in Court Friday

Former Adams County Coroner James Keller was in Adams County Circuit Court for a status hearing Friday.

Keller resigned as coroner last June. He was charged with official misconduct in September.

Officials say negotiations are underway for a plea agreement in the case.
Appellate Prosecutor Matthew Goetten says the two sides are close to an agreement but need more time.

A second status hearing has been scheduled for February 22nd.

If an agreement is not reached, Keller is scheduled to stand trial in March.
