Bevis Sentenced for Sexual Assault

A Quincy man is sentenced Thursday in Adams County Circuit Court on sexual assault charges.

Under a plea agreement, 20 year old Edward Bevis gets four-and-a-half years in prison for aggravated criminal sexual assault.

The charges came in connection with Bevis allegedly contacting a 14 year old girl on Facebook, who traveled from Ohio last June to be with Bevis and have sexual relations with him.

The sentence was the maximum allowed under the plea agreement.
