Former Adams County Coroner James Keller pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in Adams County Circuit Court Thursday.

Keller had also been charged with official misconduct. That charge was dropped as part of a plea deal.

Keller is alleged to have been in possession of hydrocodone without authority.

Keller was sentenced to 24 months first offender probation, 30 hours of community service and ordered to pay $3,200 in fees.

Keller resigned as coroner last July.
