Fire Destroys Rural Marion County Home Sunday Night

Firefighters battled blowing snow and cold to fight a fire in rural Marion County Sunday night.

Fire crews were called to a residential fire at 480 County Road 147 at Highway P near Durham about 6 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters from Ewing, Palmyra, LaGrange, Maywood and Philadelphia were called in to help in fighting the fire.

The residents of the home did get out safely. The home was completely destroyed. Early indications point to a wood stove as the cause of the fire.
