A Clarence woman is killed and a Madison woman is seriously injured in a three vehicle crash on Highway 22 northwest of Centralia in Boone County at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday.

The Highway Patrol reports 53 year old Monte Hayes of Moberly was eastbound on 22 when his front tire of his truck ruptured, causing pieces of the truck to come loose and break away, striking a westbound pickup, driven by 50 year old Gregory Keene of Sturgeon.

Both drivers lost control and Hayes’ truck struck a westbound car, driven by 24 year old Rachael Hultz of Madison.

Hultz was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries. Her passenger, 30 year old Cassandra Simmerman of Clarence, was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

A Hannibal woman suffers moderate injuries in a car-semi crash on Highway 24 at Marion County Route MM at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The Highway Patrol reports 60 year old Michael Wibberg of Linn, Missouri was northbound, made a left turn and his semi was struck by a southbound car, driven by 89 year old Patsy Miller of Hannibal.

Miller was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.
