Driver Charged with DUI Following Fatal Crash Near Mendon

A rollover crash at 1:30 Saturday afternoon on the Mendon-Fowler Blacktop claims the life of a young Mendon woman.
Adams County Sheriff's deputies say a vehicle driven by 22 year old Skye Cantrell of Mendon went off the road and returned to the road before overturning multiple times before coming to rest on its top on the road just south of the Adams County Fairgrounds.  Deputies say a passenger, 24 year old Monica Jarvis of Mendon, was ejected from the vehicle and taken to St. Johns Hospital in Springfield by Air Evac where she died of her injuries. Cantrell was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment of serious injuries. Deputies say Cantrell is charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving under the influence of drugs.
