Time is running out to apply for utility assistance in Missouri.

The deadline for the winter portion of the programs is March 31st. NECAC is taking applications from income-qualifying people at its service centers in Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, Randolph, St. Charles, Shelby and Warren counties.

There are two types of assistance available -- the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program and the Energy Crisis Intervention Program. Both are federally funded, with payments going directly to utility companies.

More information is available by calling a NECAC County Service Center or 573-324-0120.
