A nationally known publication has released its annual list of the nation’s best colleges and universities, and an area institution of higher learning made the list.

Officials with Culver Stockton College in Canton announced that the school has made the U.S. News and World Report’s annual 2022 Best Colleges and Universities list in three different categories.

The lists that include Culver actually covers the Midwest Region, which takes in 12 states, from Michigan and Ohio on the east to the Dakotas, Nebraska and Kansas on the west.

Culver Stockton was ranked in the top 35 for best regional college, and finished in the top 20 for Best Value Schools and Top Schools for Social Mobility.

All three of those rankings were improvements over last year.

Culver Stockton President Dr. Douglas B. Palmer credits the cohesiveness of the C-SC community to these increased rankings, “Extraordinary faculty who are committed to academic excellence, combined with staff who work diligently to provide best value, all come together to afford our students the best education in a supportive environment.” Palmer said. “The value of a liberal arts education is unmatched in today’s economy and we are confident that our experiential curriculum and supportive learning environment will continue to prepare our students for a dynamic world.”
