The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of the passing of counterfeit money at a local business.

According to Sheriff Brian Vonderhaar, deputies received a report that a fake one-hundred-dollar bill was passed at a business in the Mendon area sometime this month.

Sheriff Vonderhaar reminds businesses to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity or currency that might cross their path.

Anyone with information on counterfeit currency activity is asked to call Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers at 217-228-4474.
