Body of Missing Bethel Man Found in Shelby County Friday

The body of a man who walked away from a Shelby County traffic crash two weeks ago has been found.

36 year old Matthew Shaw of Bethel was involved in a single vehicle crash near Shelbyville May 15th. He left the scene of the crash and disappeared into a wooded area.

The Highway Patrol reports searchers found Shaw’s body Friday morning, about a quarter-mile east of crash site.

Troopers say the death is not considered suspicious, but the investigation continues.
An autopsy of Shaw’s body in scheduled for Monday.
