Blessing Health System to Build New Surgical Center
Blessing Health System Wednesday announced plans to build a new ambulatory surgical treatment center.
Blessing proposes to build a $21 million dollar, two-story 36,000 square foot facility in what is now a physician parking lot, bordered by 12th and Spring.
The new facility would allow Blessing to move its current surgical center from space it leases from Quincy Medical Group. The lease for that space expires in 2023.
QMG recently received approval from state regulators to build its own surgical center in the former Bergner’s building in the Quincy Mall.
Blessing’s new surgical center needs the approval of the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board. If that happens, the new facility could be open in early 2022.
