After a year of seven-day-a-week operation, the Blessing Health System COVID-19 hotline is reducing its hours.

Hospital officials announced Wednesday the telephone hotline will no longer operate on weekends, beginning this Saturday.

When the hotline first opened in March, nurses would receive from 500 to 600 calls on the weekends. This past weekend, call numbers dropped into single digits.

Blessing’s COVID hotline will continue to be staffed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

That hotline number is 217-277-3504.
