Wind Advisory, Red Flag Warning Begins at Noon Monday
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory and a Red Flag Warning for most of the area from noon to 8 p.m. Monday.
Forecasters are expecting south winds at 20 to 30 with gusts up to 45 miles per hour.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and power outages could result.
Along with the gusty winds, the National Weather Service is expecting relative humidities to fall as low as 20 percent, creating conditions conducive for the rapid spread and growth of uncontrolled wildfires.
Officially, the Wind Advisory is for the Missouri counties of Knox, Lewis, Marion and Shelby and the Illinois counties of Adams and Brown.
The Red Flag Warning affects those same counties, along with the Missouri counties of Audrain, Monroe and Ralls.
