Western IL Traffic Stop Nets 43 Pounds of Marijuana

A traffic stop Sunday on I-72 results in the seizure of 43 pounds of marijuana.
Illinois State Police stopped a van near mile post 40 for a traffic violation. A trooper could smell the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Subsequent investigation led to the discover of 43 pounds of marijuana in various compartments in the van. The stop results in the arrest of 50 year old Dana Feldman of Chico California and 34 year old Erica Friday of Onley Maryland. Both were taken to the Pike County Jail in Pittsfield on charges of cannibis trafficking… possession of more than five thousand grams of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Pike County Sheriff’s deputies and the West Central Illinois Task Force assisted the Illinois State Police.
