A change of venue is being sought for the murder trial of Curtis Lovelace. His defense team filed a motion Monday to move the trial out of Adams County.

Lovelace is held in the Hancock County Jail in connection with the suffocation death of his then-wife Cory Lovelace in February of 2006.

Lovelace is a former Adams County Assistant State’s Attorney and former Quincy School Board member. He was arrested on the murder charges last August.

The trial is currently scheduled to start on September 21.
