(BOWLING GREEN)-- The case against a former Pike County sheriff candidate who faces felony charges has been moved.

A judge Thursday granted a change of venue to Montgomery County for 45-year-old Grover Lynn Turner Junior of Louisiana. He’s accused of seven counts of assault and one count of property damage following an alleged incident on July 29, 2012 along Route U-U He also faces a misdemeanor charge of making a false report.

The misdemeanor charge accuses Turner of lying to authorities about the location of his pickup.

Turner was a candidate for Pike County sheriff last year, but lost the November election to incumbent Stephen Korte.

A date for a court hearing in Montgomery County has not been set.
