First it was pork – now it’s produce.

The United Way of the Mark Twain Area announced Wednesday it had partnered with the USDA’s Farmers to Families Food Box Program to distribute over 79,000 pounds of fresh produce to non-profit organizations.

Deliveries of the produce to area food pantries and senior centers began Wednesday and will continue weekly through June 22nd.

Along with USDA, the United Way partnered with Trust GDC in Hannibal, Proffer Produce of Park Hills, Missouri and the Coronavirus Farm Assistance Program to make the produce windfall happen.
