Two Hurt, One Ticketed in Area Traffic Crashes Friday
Two are hurt and one is ticketed is three area mishaps Friday.
An Elsberry woman escapes with minor injuries when her car was struck by a train in Clarksville at 7:51 p.m. Friday.
The Highway Patrol reports 78 year old Coletta Yokel was eastbound on Main Cross Street, was inattentive and her car was struck by a southbound General Electric Burlington North train, operated by 59 year old William Estes of Pleasant Hill.
Yokel was taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana for treatment.
A Kahoka man suffers minor injuries in an ATV crash on private property north of Kahoka at 6:58 p.m. Friday.
The Highway Patrol reports 20 year old Devin Leffler was southbound, lost control of his ATV and was ejected from the vehicle.
Leffler was taken to Keokuk Area Hospital for treatment.
There were no injuries but one driver was ticketed in a two vehicle crash on Illinois 57 at Town and Country Mobile Home Park at 3:39 p.m. Friday.
Adams County Sheriff’s Deputies report 19 year old Jacob Tracy of Quincy was northbound, slowed to make left turn and was rearended by a northbound truck driven by 35 year old Jeffrey Underwood of Keokuk.
Both vehicle suffered major damage. Neither driver was hurt, but Underwood was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
