Two Lewistown residents are in the Lewis County Jail facing theft charges.

Lewis County Sheriff David Parrish reports the arrest Thursday of 38 year old Shawn Knight. A deputy found Knight hiding in a ditch in a field near Lewistown.

Knight was wanted for a failure to appear in a leaving the scene of an accident case, and for theft of construction tools.

Knight is alleged to have taken construction equipment, including generators and hand tools, from a construction site near Lewistown. He is charged with two counts of stealing.

Then, on Sunday, an accomplice of Knight’s, 23 year old Tamara Cibert, was arrested, also on two counts of stealing.

Knight is being held on $27,500 bond. Cibert is in jail on $15,000 bond.
