Two Are Hurt in Weather-Related Traffic Crashes Monday
Hazardous travel conditions Monday morning resulted in at least two weather-related traffic crashes in the area.
Slippery roads are blamed for a one vehicle crash on Highway 61 north of Canton at 7 a.m. Monday.
The Highway Patrol reports 60 year old Deborah Cantrill Anderson was northbound when she lost control of her SUV. The vehicle ran off the road,
struck a utility pole and overturned.
Anderson was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment of moderate injuries.
A Fowler, Illinois woman suffers moderate injuries in a two vehicle crash on Highway 36 east of Monroe City at 8 a.m. Monday.
The Highway Patrol reports 23 year old Hannah Thomas of Fowler was eastbound, lost control of her SUV on a bridge and slid into the median.
Thomas’ vehicle overturned several times, entered the westbound lane and was struck head on by a westbound semi, driven by a Waterloo, Ontario man.
The westbound lanes of Highway 36 were closed for a time Monday as a result of the crash.
Thomas was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment.
