Trucker, Passenger Hurt in Interstate 72 Crash Saturday

A trucker and his passenger escape with minor injuries in a semi-truck/trailer crash on westbound Interstate 72 at milepost 11 east of Hull at 3 a.m. Saturday.

The Illinois State Police report that 23 year old Ignacio Frias IV of Prince George, Virginia was westbound, swerved to avoid a deer and lost control of his rig which overturned in the median.

Frias and his passenger, 38 year old Estele Neely of Mount Morris, Michigan, who was asleep in the semi’s sleeper, were taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.

Frias was ticketed by state troopers for improper lane usage.
