Hannibal Man Seriously Injured in I-72 Crash Friday

A Hannibal man suffers serious injuries in a single vehicle crash at milepost two on Interstate 72 in Pike County, Illinois just after 2 p.m. Friday.

The Illinois State Police reports 38 year old Keyur Patel of Hannibal was westbound when his SUV ran off the road and rolled over several times before coming to rest on the driver’s side in the roadway.

The westbound lanes of I-72 were closed for about two hours Friday afternoon during the crash investigation and scene cleanup.

Patel was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
