A Troy, Missouri semi driver loses his life after pulling into the path of an oncoming train. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the collision occurred at a crossing near Old Highway 79 in Lincoln County around 11:19 a.m. Friday.

Troopers say 38 year-old Shanon Amerosa of Troy pulled out of a private drive and drove into the path of a BNSF train operated by 32 year-old David Crumrine of Palmyra.  The locomotive struck the driver’s side of the semi.

Amerosa was transported to Mercy Hospital-Lincoln by ambulance.  He was pronounced dead at 12:34 p.m.
