A southern Illinois woman's murder trial that's been delayed three times is now set to begin in May.

The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan reports 31-year-old Sacha Brown of Jonesboro is scheduled for a pretrial hearing Feb. 19 in Union County. She's accused of killing her boyfriend's 4-year-old son.

Brown has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery and concealment of a homicidal death in the December 2011 slaying of Justin James Hepburn at the boy's home in Ware, about 20 miles southwest of Carbondale.

Authorities allege the boy's skull had been fractured, and that Brown positioned the child to make his death look like an accident.

Brown's trial scheduled to begin May 20 and is expected to take about three weeks.

Brown is free on bond.
