Preparations are underway for one of the area's most popular fundraisers. The 19th annual Marion County Relay for Life happens Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6 at Flower City Park in Palmyra.

There are a number of standing Relay for Life teams that hold their own events throughout the year to raise money for cancer research. But there are always room for more teams to take part.

The relay event includes a reception for cancer survivors, along with a special lap in the relay for survivors and their caregivers. While there are some poignant moments during the evening/early morning, the Relay for Life is all about celebrating the survivors and remembering those who lost the fight.
