(Jefferson City)—Traffic crashes in Missouri over the Labor Day weekend left seven people dead, according to the Highway Patrol.  The figure matches the 2012 death toll for the same period.  The beginning of the counting period—Friday evening—saw no fatalities in the state.  Three people died Saturday, one Sunday, and three deaths occurred on Labor Day.  Troopers investigated 248 traffic crashes statewide, compared to 201 in 2012.  DWI arrests totaled 119, compared to 147 for 2012.
No one lost their life on Missouri waterways during the 2013 Labor Day Weekend. Fourteen people were arrested for Boating While Intoxicated this year, compared to 7 last year.  One person drowned during the same weekend in 2012.
