A lost item report in downtown Hannibal has a happy ending.

Hannibal Police say a Bartlett Tennessee resident called around 6 p-m Tuesday after she realized she had lost her wedding rings while in Hannibal as a tourist. She did not realize she had lost the items until she was on the way to another city. A police department community service officer overheard the call and took it upon himself to go to the location she described to look for the rings. Police say the community service officer found the rings unharmed in the street on North Main. The owner returned to Hannibal and now has her rings back. They are valued at seven thousand dollars.
