Turns out some states might be totally cool with you having a pet squirrel. Is your state one of them?

I've always considered porch lights just the thing that keeps me from falling down my steps at night. For many of my neighbors in Missouri though, they are a way to convey a message and the color matters. I've learned there's a truly heartbreaking reason why many make their porch lights gold.

I have so many questions. A new ranking of states that are supposedly united at the moment asks the question of what happens if they aren't. It states that Illinois is best equipped (literally) to be a state that survives what would almost absolutely be a tragic conflict. Did I mention that I have so many questions?

Have you ever driven past a barn with a colorful star and wondered why? I always assumed it was merely decorative, but as it turns out, there's also much history and symbolism behind these rural icons.

It really does make a lot of sense when you think about it. I've found a genius hack that has inspired many in Missouri to regularly put toothbrushes in their dishwasher. It's a very good idea that I wish I had thought of first.

The best attractions are those you come across that are not planned to see. However, there is one attraction in Illinois that is a must-see to believe.

Nothing looks at all out of the ordinary, and then everything changes. This is as satisfying as a tree falling can get.

It all adds up to an astounding amount of money and part of it might be owed to you. The Illinois State Treasurer has announced that there are approximately $1 billion dollars in unclaimed savings bonds in the Land of Lincoln alone. The good news is there's an easy way to check if you're owed part of that money.

You can't see this, but I'm rolling my eyes and haven't stopped since I first learned what the internet thinks is Missouri's loneliest place. It is beyond ridiculous and I can prove it with personal experience and some science, too.
