Quincy Woman Dies in SW Missouri Crash

(Springfield, MO) – A Quincy woman is dead as the result of a one car crash on Interstate 44 west of Springfield, Missouri at 9:58 a.m. Monday.

The Highway Patrol reports 84-year-old Richard Walz of Quincy was eastbound when he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel. His car ran off the road, with the passenger side colliding head on with a guard rail.

Richard Walz suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. His passenger, 85-year-old Audry Walz, was pronounced dead at the scene.
