Quincy Man Pleads Guilty to Assaulting Lyft Driver

A Quincy man has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the assault of a Lyft driver earlier this year.

In Adams County Circuit Court Thursday, 21 year old Kolter Melvin pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated battery. As part of a plea deal, a second charge of criminal sexual abuse was dropped.

Melvin is alleged to have grabbed the Lyft driver and made sexually aggressive comments to her after she picked him up near 8th and Gardner Expressway early on the morning of February 17th.

Sentencing for Melvin is set for December 17th.
