A Quincy man was arrested early Wednesday morning at an area nursing home on firearms charges.

Adams County Sheriff Brian VonderHaar reports deputies were called to Timber Point Healthcare in Camp Point about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a man with a firearm in the building.

Deputies arrived to find 39 year old Bruce Gilker in the building with a firearm. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Gilker was taken to the Adams County Jail on charges including aggravated use of a weapon, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition without a FOID and aggravated assault, with additional charges pending.

Timber Point was on lockdown briefly during the incident. No residents or staff were hurt.
