A Quincy man is in custody following a standoff Friday with Hannibal Police.
Officers were notified of a vehicle reported stolen in Quincy was parked at 8th and Church in Hannibal. Officers contacted a 31 year old Quincy male who failed to comply with officer commands before fleeing. Spike strips deflated one of the car tires and the male stopped at the Huck Finn Shopping Center where officers negotiated and persuaded him to get out of the vehicle. The police report indicates the male is reported to have mental disorders. He was transported for evaluation. Criminal charges are pending. Hannibal Police were assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s department… Marion County EMS and Mark Twain Behavioral Health.
