One man is in custody following a late night pursuit along US 61.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says the pursuit started shortly before 11:30 Sunday night when a Lewis County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a pickup truck on Missouri 16 near Canton. Reports indicate the driver increased speed and fled south on US 61 at speeds over 90 miles per hour. Spike strips deployed at Mt. Zion road near Hannibal damaged three of the tires forcing it to reduce speed. The driver pulled over and was stopped on a convenience store parking lot along McMasters Avenue where he was surrounded by Highway Patrol troopers… Marion County Sheriff’s deputies… Hannibal and Monroe City Police. The driver was taken into custody without incident following treatment for minor injuries.
