Police: 13-Year-Old on Bike Killed in Illinois

Peoria County authorities say a 13-year-old boy on a bicycle has been struck and killed by a pickup truck.

The (Peoria) Journal Star reports the Peoria Heights Police Department said Dillon Fisher died in the accident Thursday evening. Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says Fisher was crossing an intersection when he was hit by the truck. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Police haven't issued any citations or released information about the truck driver.

They blocked a portion of War Memorial Drive and were rerouting traffic as they investigated.
