For the fourth year, a local company has stepped up to help the fight against cancer.

In a ceremony Tuesday, officials with Peters Heating and Air Conditioning awarded a check for $2,500 to the James E. Cary Cancer Center.

Peters raises the money when its customers ask for the “Pink Van” to come to their home or business on a service call. When they do, a portion of the price of the call goes to the cancer center.

According to Peter’s Heating & Air’s Lucas Peters, the idea of the pink van made sense.

The cancer center’s Robert Hess says the money from the pink van is put to good use.

KICK-FM is among the sponsors for the Peters’ Pink Van.
