A male pedestrian sustained serious injuries when he was struck by two vehicles Friday night on US 61 in Hannibal.

MODOT says the highway was closed in the area near the Missouri Welcome Center and MODOT for about 90 minutes early Friday evening.

Hannibal Police say the man was crossing the highway when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a St. Louis area woman. A chain reaction crash resulted. One of the drivers involved and a passenger sustained minor injuries and were taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.

Reports indicate the pedestrian was flown to Columbia for treatment.

Three vehicles were towed from the scene.
