(Hannibal, UPDATED 3/25) - At approximately 8:38 Thursday (3/21/13) evening a 21 year old male was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the structure fire in the 800 block of Paris Ave. The subject is formally from Joplin Mo and is a resident of Shinn Residential. He was placed on a 24 hour hold and released on March 22nd pending further investigation and Fire Marshal review.

(Hannibal, UPDATED) - The fire that burned a Paris Avenue home in Hannibal last night was set on purpose, says the Hannibal Fire Department.

A suspect is in custody after an investigation. At least one person suffered minor burns but other occupants made it out safely.

Firefighters were called out shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday to the house at 807 Paris Ave. Nine firefighters fought the fire, which was under control in 15 minutes.

(Original Story)—Investigators will be looking for the cause of a fire reported shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday evening at 807 Paris Avenue in Hannibal.

Hannibal firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the residence. No injuries are reported. Fire crews knocked down the flames in about 15 minutes.
