Palmyra Police Investigate Dog Bite Incident
Palmyra Police are investigating a dog bite incident that took place at the Budget Inn in Palmyra last Friday.
In a press release, Chief Eddie Bogue reports officers responded to a report of a dog bite in the 400 block of Lafayette at 7:17 p.m. April 15th.
Officers learned that two dogs that belonged to residents of the Budget Inn, got out of their hotel room. One of the dogs knocked down a two year old girl who was outside, while the other dog bit her on the head and back. The girl was visiting her grandparents, who also live at the hotel.
The girl was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital, then transferred to Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis. She is now out of the hospital and reported to be recovering well.
The dogs were taken into custody and transported to Agri-Med Vet Clinic. The dogs were identified as boxers.
